If you mean depends and rdepends here - these are not limited to (Pre-)Depends per default -- only with --important they are. So rdepends should do what you want, doesn't it? Or did i misunderstand you here completely? I don't think it is a good idea to extend the "search" this way, search is by design limited as all apt commands are in some way. Low dependency count comes with a cost at some point, but we have a lot of tools out there much better than this simple search, e.g have a look at axi-cache in apt-xapian-index.
