Package: aptitude Version: 0.6.3-2+b1 Severity: wishlist Hello Daniel,
After I reverted to using grouping by default (instead of a flat list, which seemed more practical at the time) I got a bit annoyed by the grouping by sections (admin, gnome, kde, ...) before archive component (main, contrib, non-free). IMHO there are some benefits to grouping by component first: + it is more logical (grouping from top to bottom) + it makes it more obvious that one has contrib/non-free packages + it gets rid of an additional sub-grouping in every section, even if one has only 'main' configured (which is probably what prompted me to try a flat list in the beginning) - ... can't think of any right know (which doesn't mean they don't exist) For the record, my current setting is: aptitude::UI::Default-Grouping "status, section(topdir),section(subdirs, passthrough)"; (I don't need the tasks) Regards, Andrei -- Package-specific info: aptitude 0.6.3 compiled at Jul 1 2010 18:33:30 Compiler: g++ 4.4.4 Compiled against: apt version 4.8.0 NCurses version 5.7 libsigc++ version: 2.2.4.2 Ept support enabled.
