Tested 2.6.34 from experimental and the problem is definitely solved. Running 2.6.34-1~experimental.2 for about a week now without the issue appearing while with the 2.6.32 version with the 2.6.33 DRM backported manifested the issue within about 8 hours. Not sure what to do about this bug. For me it is completely acceptable to keep running 2.6.34 from experimental. But you might want to keep it open in case somebody else encounters this issue.
