Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: wishlist

I just got my testing-proposed-updates upload approved in
http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2010/06/msg00061.html to fix
a security issue together with some more important issues in testing
while 3.2.1 blocks in sid rejected with the following:

Reject Reasons:
openoffice.org-l10n-it_3.2.0-11_all.deb: old version (1:3.2.0-10) in unstable <=
+new version (1:3.2.0-11) targeted at testing-proposed-updates.
[...]

$ rmadison -s unstable openoffice.org
openoffice.org | 1:3.2.0-10 |      unstable | source, alpha, armel, ia64, mips,
mipsel, s390
openoffice.org |  1:3.2.1-1 |      unstable | source, amd64, i386,
kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, powerpc, sparc

OK, the source for 1:3.2.0-10 is still present, but IMHO it should not
block -11 for tpu as sids "real" version is 1:3.2.1-1.

As discussed on IRC:

15:41 < _rene_> hrmpf
15:42 < _rene_> the version comparison t-p-u < sid takes *all* packages into
                account?!
15:42 < _rene_> I mean not only whether sid has newer source but also the old
                binary packages?
15:42 < adsb> I'd assume it takes all /source/ versions into account
15:42 < aba> what else?
15:42 < adsb> and there will potentially be multiple sources in sid
15:42 < aba> yeah. so hurd is starting to hurd us now.
15:42 < _rene_> adsb: that might be.
15:43 < _rene_> *shrugs*
15:43 < aba> s/to hurd/to hurt
15:43 < _rene_> ok, so no tpu for those fixes...
15:43 < adsb> Nice typo :)
15:43 < aba> mhy, Ganneff: could you please change that
15:43 < Ganneff> change what?
15:43 < aba> that only the most recent source version is considered
15:44 < Ganneff> umm.
15:44 < Ganneff> write a bug
15:44 < aba> _rene_: can you please write an bug?

Grüße/Regards,

Rene
