Package: svn-buildpackage

In the Debian Perl Group, we're currently using svn-buildpackage to manage
around 1600 packages (and growing). For the most part this is working fine,
so many thanks for all your work on svn-buildpackage so far!
However, with such a large number of packages, the trunk/branches/tags
directories are becoming rather large. This can make some work on the
repository quite slow, and makes it difficult to navigate the repository
with the web interfaces, etc.
I was wondering whether it would be possible to add new layout options that
would instruct svn-buildpackage to break up these directories by letter,
similar to the pool layout in the archive, i.e.
trunk/liba/
libacme-bleach-perl
libacme-damn-perl
...
trunk/libb/
libbarcode-code128-perl
libbenchmark-progressbar-perl
...
I'm not sure if this should be another option to '-l', or possibly a
separate option. It would probably be useful for repositories in either
layout.
