I do not know Ubuntu that well to tell. :) I believe it is possible to "revoke" notifications (Sune in the KDE team demonstrated this), and believe it make sense for krb5-auth-dialog to revoke the "about to expire" notification when the "expired" notification is presented. This way at most one notification will be active for a given ticket. Do you know how to do this?
