Hi,
the new development version 2.3.3 was reported to support a new selection
mechanism: SIOX ("Simple Interactive Object Extraction"). This is a pretty
neat feature and might perhaps be a noce reason to provide an additional
development version gimp2.3 as we did for gimp1.3 in the past.
