Hi Ari,

It is a goal for squeeze to update the default tcl/tk version
to 8.5. To pursue this, it would be nice to have most packages
that depend on tcl-dev built against version 8.5 in experimental.

As discussed on debian-release[1], this requires sourceful uploads,
to specify Build-Depends: tcl-dev (>= 8.5), tk-dev (>= 8.5).

I do not know pidgin very well, but it seems its main use for tcl is
to allow writing plugins in tcl. Could you point me to some examples?
If it turns out to be necessary to bump the ABI version to use the new
tcl version, would that be okay?

An alternative would be to explicitly stick to tcl8.4-dev for now,
but I would like to avoid that.

Regards,
Jonathan
