Hi, I do: module-assistant a-i ieee80211-source module-assistant a-i ipw220-source then I copy firmware from ipw2200.sf.net (version for drivers 1.0.4 and later) in /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware/ (as stated in README.firmware) and finally, modprobe ipw2200 after that the console freezes for some seconds. dmesg says: ipw2200: Detected Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection ipw2200: ipw-2.3-boot.fw load failed: Reason -2 ipw2200: Unable to load firmware: 0xFFFFFFFE ipw2200: failed to register network device ipw2200: probe of 0000:02:03.0 failed with error -5 I noticed that the problem is reported also on ipw2200 development website[1]: they suggest to increase the default timeout. I tried it, but it does not solve the problem.
