When trying to resize a frame, by chance it's either moved or resized, though the mouse pointer changes to the move icon. Then the frame snaps to something, but not in any reasonable way to a grid which would allow you to align the frames evenly buy just moving them around and sizing them with the mouse. Fumbling around with the "Align and Distribute" window is no alternative. Using a grid of guides doesn't work, either: I ended up not being able to move the frames to where I wanted them at all.
