Package: mimedefang Version: 2.67-3 Severity: minor In /etc/default/mimedefang, several options are provided to control the behavior of the daemon and slaves, most of which are commented out. The MX_MAX_RSS is commented-out, but the value is 10000 kB. On amd64, this is insufficient for all but the smallest email messages. I had uncommented this because I was having a problem with excessive memory usage (due to my bad programming in the filter), but found that several messages were unnecessarily being rejected because the slaves had run out of memory.
I'm not sure what a better choice would be, but I've used 100000 kB, which seems to work for my purposes. You will probably want to change MX_MAX_AS to something a little larger, too. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- brian m. carlson / brian with sandals: Houston, Texas, US +1 832 623 2791 | http://www.crustytoothpaste.net/~bmc | My opinion only OpenPGP: RSA v4 4096b: 88AC E9B2 9196 305B A994 7552 F1BA 225C 0223 B187
