I have confirmed this bug on the following additional architectures for
sid but they appear to have different behavior than on amd64.
ia64 $ perl test.pl
Debug: A
Segmentation fault
alpha $ perl test.pl
Debug: A
Segmentation fault
it seems to work on armel, mips, mipsel, powerpc, and s390
I'll look into it as time permits.
