When dpkg/apt asks if the user wants to install 
the package maintainers configuration file/stay 
with the actual configuration/show a diff/examine 
the situation, it would be very nice to have an 
option to interactively merge the the maintainers 
version. This might be done using 

sdiff -s -o $merged $config $config.maintainer

followed by writing $merged to $config and 
deleting $config.maintainer.
