I had some trouble setting up nfs4 exports as umounting the export on the
client, editing /etc/exports on the server and re-running exportfs -rv
did *not* always result in the change of settings propagating to when I next
mount'ed the export on the client.
It should do. If not, this is a code bug, not a documentation bug.
In particular I couldn't get the no_root_squash option to work until
I ran the /etc/init.d scripts to stop the nfs server and restarted it.
(I also ran /etc/init.d/nfs-common stop and /etc/init.d/nfs-common start
before restarting the nfs server).

I can't reproduce this with version 1.2.1-3. But there are no changes
between 1.2.0-1 and 1.2.1-3 that look like they could have fixed this.
Ben.
Thanks for responding. I'm not currently running NFS but if I do again I
will check the behaviour against what I reported in this bug and update
this bug report accordingly.
Arthur.
