It seems that sbuild ships a file called: /etc/sbuild/nssdatabases-defaults That's being used by buildd to tell schroot to copy files from the host system to the chroot. Atleast the following files should not be copied and are causing problems: services protocols Those files are part of netbase which is not essential, causing problems when a package depends/build-depends on it.
