Hi,
good to see things happening here :-).

BTW While comparing build logs I saw some scary things, like failing

I just looked at the test failures on i386. Many of the libavg tests
need access to X11 and an OpenGL-capable graphics card. In current
libavg, you can define AVG_CONSOLE_TEST to skip these tests and just
run those tests that don't need a display. I'm not sure if that worked
with ver 0.8.0.
Also, I wouldn't spend too much time getting the package to run on
other architectures. We have enough problems with differing and often
buggy graphics drivers on i386 alone that I think this should really
be the priority. There is an ARM/OpenGL ES port in the works, though.
That said, here are my first impressions on the other the test failures:

`semaphore_info != (SemaphoreInfo *) ((void > *)0)' failed. /bin/bash:
line 4: 23910 Aborted ${dir}$tst
Looks like a bug involving GraphicsMagick and will probably result in
an unusable libavg. This one is new for 0.8.0-7 and didn't appear in
0.8.0-6+b2. It appears in all architectures.

`mutex->__data.__owner == 0' failed.
Scary. Looks like a bug involving boost::threads and will definitely
result in an unusable libavg. Only appears on hppa.
Cheers,
Uli
