In BTS report #502632, a request to add recommend or suggest from maxima to maxima-emacs. This was implemented in version 5.20.0-1 by adding a recommends. Now that recommends is installed by default, I request that the recommend is reduced to a suggest. I ran into the issue with Debian Edu, where we install wxmaxima to make maxima available in schools, a lot of extra packages are installed by default because of this recommend. In Debian Edu, the emacs interface is not really needed and we would like to avoid to install it by default to reduce the disk footprint.
