indeed. their design decision to let old backup metadata (signatures etc.)
linger
seems to be questionable, hindsight and all.
workaround: it's trivial to get duplicity to clean that area.
duplicity cleanup --extra-clean --force ....
takes care of removing precisely this old, uninteresting stuff.
--extra-clean is a bit hidden in the manual, and in response to this bug report
i will improve that situation, also spelling out the 0.6-archive dir policy
and its consequences.
