For which fix? Matthias has forwarded the issue to the binutils mailing list and the answer he got was: Use -fPIC. The upstream bug report does not have any comment by upstream. And I also didn't get any answer to my mail to the binutils mailing list. "hope for a fix" - well, don't get me wrong, but atm it looks like this will never be fixed.
