Hello,
The package fails to build in a test rebuild on at least amd64 with
gcc-4.5/g++-4.5, but succeeds to build with gcc-4.4/g++-4.4.
This problem is fixed in the CVS version of GDL. Here's the relevant
patch:

Since v4.5 g++ forbids to redeclare library functions (such as abs())
outside of a namespace (unless included in an extern "C").
