This is not the first time I need a workaround for gpg-agent/pinentry (e.g. GNU Emacs Multi-TTY on text console), thus I still wonder why there is not yet a pinentry implementation which mimics the old behavior, i.e. it simply asks for a passphrase without the need to lock the entire terminal or show a dialog window.
