Currently the sync process doesn't use a proxy
xmlrpc_connect(self): in sync.py
self.__server = ServerProxy(self.__prefs.get('SYNC_SERVER'))
from the doco need to use a custom transport to use a proxy, this should be
linked to
http_proxy environment variable
