Package: debconf Version: 1.5.28 Severity: normal i installed a package that upon installation did ask, if a changed config file should be replaced. i declined the request, because i had made some changes. now i decided to reset the config file to its default state, the eaisest way being to simply do a reinstall of the package -- which to my surprise did _not_ pop the question again. the next idea was using dpkg-reconfigure ... but neither -phigh nor -plow (and i confess, i never really grasped what means what and how it is determined) did produce the question again.
i'd expect those managemant tools to basically offer the same options like a new installation or upgrade of a package does. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.32.3 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_DK.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_DK.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages debconf depends on: ii debconf-i18n 1.5.28 full internationalization support ii perl-base 5.10.1-9 minimal Perl system Versions of packages debconf recommends: ii apt-utils 0.7.25.1 APT utility programs Versions of packages debconf suggests: pn debconf-doc <none> (no description available) pn debconf-utils <none> (no description available) ii dialog 1.1-20080819-1 Displays user-friendly dialog boxe pn libgnome2-perl <none> (no description available) pn libnet-ldap-perl <none> (no description available) pn libterm-readline-gnu-perl <none> (no description available) ii perl 5.10.1-9 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii whiptail 0.52.10-5 Displays user-friendly dialog boxe -- debconf information: debconf-apt-progress/preparing: debconf-apt-progress/title: debconf-apt-progress/info: debconf-apt-progress/media-change: debconf/frontend: Dialog debconf/priority: high -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
