Hi, Thanks Joost for touch up, Joost.
I also realized that adding "Release Notes" for current release as one reference to read. I am thinking to add reference to "Release Notes" after reading Frank Lin PIAT's post. (But using slightly different URL) Here we go: > Q: How to upgrade a Debian system from stable to testing (or to unstable)? > > A: A normal installation process installs a Debian "stable" system. > > You can upgrade from "stable" to "testing" by changing the distribution > suite name string in the file "/etc/apt/sources.list" from "stable" to > "testing" (or by changing the distribution codename string from > "&releasename;" to "&testingreleasename;"). > > You can upgrade from "stable" to "unstable" by changing the distribution > suite name string in the file "/etc/apt/sources.list" from "stable" to > "unstable" (or by changing the distribution codename string from > "&releasename;" to "sid"). > > After this change, a regular upgrade (e.g. by running "aptitude dist-upgrade") > will execute the full upgrade. > These operations come with some risks. Please read "Life with eternal upgrades" in "Debian Reference" and "Release notes" for details. Put link to "http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debian-reference/ch02.en.html#_life_with_eternal_upgrades" "http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/releasenotes" "http://www.debian.org/releases/testing/releasenotes" (when it is available) Osamu -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
