I believe this bug still affects the latest squid3 packages in all Debian releases except experimental, so I'd like to suggest a workaround that seems to work for me. Enable the following option in /etc/squid3/squid.conf :
refresh_all_ims on The only downside I'm aware of is that this can sometimes result in unnecessary If-Modified-Since requests, causing a little latency, where the request could have been answered directly from the cache.
