Package: hal Version: 0.5.14-1 Severity: wishlist Please consider making the PID file /var/run/hald/hald.pid world readable. The file itself is, but the directory it is in is not accessible by the world. The PID file doesn't contain anything secret, AFAICT, and making it accessible would allow checking the status of the service without root access.
