acpi-support binary package version 0.131-3 does not fix the issue, because file asus-wireless-wlan is not copied into /etc/acpi/events.
Line debian/addons/events/asus-wireless-wlan /etc/acpi/events should be added to debian/acpi-support.install in source package. With rebuilt package installed, the wifi button starts to work correctly.
