Package: grub-efi-amd64 Severity: important Mounting the EFI partition of a MacBook 5,2 onto /boot and then invoking grub-install fails with the following:
grub-mkimage: error: no symbol table Running with bash -x reveals that it is the following command that fails: /usr/sbin/grub-mkimage --output=/boot/grub/grub.efi fat part_gpt I suspect that output of above command, even if succeeding, would fail to work due to not including modules like configfile and linux, but that is another topic which is hopefully moot when this bug is fixed and I can move on to actually test it.
