There's so little information here that I can't really do anything at the moment :( Please, try starting gthumb from a console, and paste here the messages appearing. Also, please do: $ strace gthumb -o somefile then only try to do the import, and close everything as soon as it fails. Then please attach "somefile" to this bugreport. Let's try to fix this bug!
