So, this bug is a regression/change in autoconf 2.63 [http://old.nabble.com/--gnits,-AC_INIT-and-VERSION-td25572855.html]; We should forward the bug upstream in subunit to work around it,and perhaps build dep on autoconf2.59 for now.
