Package: vpnc
Version: 0.5.8-0m5
Script /etc/vpnc/vpnc-script checks an existence of /etc/osso_software_version
file to execute Maemo5 handling of /etc/resolv.conf - it maintains
/var/run/resolv.conf for dnsmasq.
However, new Maemo5 (fremantle) N900 phone doesn't have this file at all.
Script can use another way.
I can suggest something like checking '^resolv-file=/var/run/resolv.conf' in
/etc/dnsmasq.conf file to run a Maemo way with /var/run/resolv.conf. Or
checking an existence of /etc/osso-af-init in addition to
/etc/osso_software_version file.
The outcome of bug: sometime it may destroy /etc/resolv.conf (nullify) and
system starts sending a broadcast DNS requests instead of sending to DHCP
server.
System: Nokia N900 phone with Maemo5 (fremantle) version 42-11, kernel
2.6.28-omap1, /lib/libc.so.6 is GLIBC 2.5, NIS(YP)/NIS+ NSS modules 0.19 by
Thorsten Kukik, BIND-8.2.3-T5B, dnsmasq 2.35-1osso9+etch4+0m5, udhcp
0.9.8cvs20050303-2osso7.
