Sorry again! I admit to being a most negligent bug-reporter here.

I can tell you with certainty that (1) the problem occurred on several
CDs, not just one, and (2) none of the CDs had data tracks--they were
all just standard audio CDs.  I will try it again now with the same CDs
and the most recent version of jack and let you know the result.
