Dear maintainer, it seems to me that your package is completely redundant, because version 1.2.6 of artist.el is already included in Emacs 22 and newer; moreover a new release from Tomas Abrahamsson seems unlikely. Furthermore, comparing your version of artist.el with the versions included in Emacs 22 and later does not end favorable for the separately packaged version. There have been numerous small fixes in Emacs, ranging from spelling corrections to security improvements. E.g., the artist-system function in your version uses make-temp-name to generate a temporary file name, whereas the Emacs 22 version of artist-system uses the more secure make-temp-file function for that purpose.
