Package: gadfly
Version: 1.0.0-13.1
Severity: serious
Justification: RC bug, declining popcon, appears to be inactive upstream
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: proposed-removal

gadfly seems like a possible candidate for removal from Debian:

* RC-buggy (syntax error when installed with Python 2.6, although a patch
  exists in Ubuntu)
* /usr/bin/gfserver appears not to work at all? (see separate bug, just filed)
* declining popcon (21 votes for the most popular binary package)
* no reverse dependencies
* upstream seems inactive since 2005
* back in 2001, the then-current maintainer said while orphaning it:
"Maybe it should be removed from the archieve?"
  (in <http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=113080#5>)

If you want to keep this package around in Debian, please just close this bug,
and do an upload to fix the issues in it.

If you don't think it's worth keeping, please send the following commands
to cont...@bugs.debian.org, replacing nnnnnn with this bug's number:

severity nnnnnn normal
reassign nnnnnn ftp.debian.org
retitle nnnnnn RM: <packagename> -- RoM; <reasons>
thanks
