Package: rss2email Version: 1:2.65-1 Severity: wishlist I've now run across an rss feed that cannot be downloaded by rss2email (or curl, or wget), but can be downloaded by anything pretending to be firefox (or any random string) in its UA.
This is stupid of wrong of them to do; it defeats the entire purpose of rss. Anyway, I think rss2email needs to have an option to set the user agent it uses, either globally, or, preferably, per-feed. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-6-xen-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages rss2email depends on: ii python 2.5.4-2 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-feedparser 4.1-14 Universal Feed Parser for Python ii python-support 1.0.4 automated rebuilding support for P rss2email recommends no packages. rss2email suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- see shy jo -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
