Package: linux-2.6 I got the following message when upgrading the kernel about a firmware that might be missing. On this particular, the firmware is not needed because it doesn't have a l8168 chip.
Could this firmware warning be smarter, e.g. by looking at the actual chip and only showing the warning when the firmware is necessary? ┌──────────────┤ Configuring linux-image-2.6.32-rc6-iop32x ├──────────────┐ │ │ │ Required firmware files may be missing │ │ │ │ This system is currently running Linux 2.6.30-1-iop32x and you are │ │ installing Linux 2.6.32-rc6-iop32x.
