what does ls -l ~/.local/ return ?

_now_ it does return:
$ ls -l .local/
total 8
-rw-r--r-- 1 me me    0 Nov 26 20:33 kaboom
-rw-r--r-- 1 me me 1855 Apr 14  2009 screen-configurations.xml
drwx------ 8 me me 4096 Nov  2 22:37 share

i had no chance but to let kaboom run its course -- i needed acces to my computer. but, as pointed out before, kaboom has been installed since september at least and never came up like that before.

$ dir /var/lib/dpkg/info/kaboom.list
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 352 Sep 11 20:06 /var/lib/dpkg/info/kaboom.list

what has triggered kaboom all of a sudden -- and why does X crash the moment i hit "Cancel"?
