As another person and I tested today, pdftk runs on a (fresh) Debian sid amd64 correctly. So I can currently not reproduce your bug. The package versions listed on your bug report seems to be ok. They are the same as on the system I tested. Perhaps the reason of the bug is a newer/older version of some other gcj package that is not currently available in sid or experimental.
