Package: openoffice.org-base Version: 1:3.1.1-2 Severity: normal Howdy,
The OpenOffice.org Base “Table wizard” silently fails to appear when
selected on a new database.
Steps to reproduce:
* Run the ‘oobase’ program.
* The “Database wizard” appears at the “Select database” step.
* Select the “Create a new database” option.
* Select the “Finish” control.
* The wizard prompts for a filename for the new database.
* Select an arbitrary nonexistent filename, e.g. ‘/tmp/foo.odb’.
* The OpenOffice.org Base application window appears with the
newly created database.
* In the “Database” pane, select the “Tables” item.
* In the “Tasks” pane, select the “Create Table in Design View...”
item.
* The table design view window appears after a brief delay.
* Close the table design view window.
* The OpenOffice.org Base application window is visible again.
* In the “Tasks” pane, select the “Use Wizard to Create Table...”
item.
* The application gives no feedback or message, and the wizard
does not appear.
This behaviour occurs whether I have ‘openjdk-6-jre’ or ‘gcj-jre’
installed, so it does not seem to be specific to any particular JRE.
Expected behaviour:
* The “Table wizard” window should appear, allowing a new table to
be created for the database.
This correct behaviour is observed if the ‘gcj-jre’ package is
removed and the ‘openjdk-6-jre’ package is installed.
* The application should report an error if the selected action
fails.
