I too am seeing this problem. I assumed it was a bug in gnome-power-manager and filed <https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=597722> as a result.
At <http://bugzilla-attachments.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=144986> you can see the verbose log from gnome-power-manager.
