Package: sox Version: 14.3.0-1.1 Followup-For: Bug #546944
Hi, I can confirm the bug. Same problem here. However, I get the problem also if I don't use sox to directly play anything but just for some processing. I also noticed that the sox threads keeps "jumping" continuosly between the two CPUs (cores). This will always happen unless I set "CPU affinity" using schedtool or give the "--single-threaded" option to sox. Problem seems to get worse with newer kernels (e.g. with 2.6.30 it get even worse than with 2.6.26).
