starting from 0.6.5-3, gobject-introspection contains a dh_girepository helper that can generate dependencies for the gir1.0-* packages (to be used right before or after dh_shlibdeps). I’d appreciate if you could try it for gudev. Unless it is crippled with bugs (which, you know, never happen for a first release), it should simplify your life.
