And here I was all happy to have a transitional package since I don't
use vm and have no clear way to debug it (same for gnus-bonus-el).  I
inherited those packages; I didn't create them.

Tell you what... I will reactivate vm-bonus-el and add vm-bogofilter.el
to it if I can add you to the list of developers on alioth and you agree
to look at the bugs for that package and those of gnus-bonus-el.  How's
that?  :-)
