Package: dmsetup Version: 2:1.02.38-2 Severity: wishlist dmsetup conflicts with devicekit-disks, which is an indirect dependency of gnome-core. Therefore, since lvm2 depends on dmsetup, lvm2 cannot be installed at the same time as GNOME. This is problematic, since I use both, as do many other people.
Please make it possible to install both at the same time, or reassign the bug to the package that needs to be fixed to make it possible to do so. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.31-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages dmsetup depends on: ii libc6 2.9-27 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libdevmapper1.02.1 2:1.02.38-2 The Linux Kernel Device Mapper use ii udev 146-5 /dev/ and hotplug management daemo ii util-linux 2.16.1-3 Miscellaneous system utilities dmsetup recommends no packages. dmsetup suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- brian m. carlson / brian with sandals: Houston, Texas, US +1 713 440 7475 | http://crustytoothpaste.ath.cx/~bmc | My opinion only OpenPGP: RSA v4 4096b 88AC E9B2 9196 305B A994 7552 F1BA 225C 0223 B187
