This very much looks like a bug in deskbar applet.
The duplicated deskbar-applet in the modules path doesn't really make sense.
And deskbar-applet.pc has
modulesdir=${exec_prefix}/lib/deskbar-applet/modules-2.20-compatible
So reassigning.
