Yes.

You do have to install the package to use the tests,
it is for testing the installed package.

Rationale being that it's not a unit-test for individual 
functions, but it's a system test for the resulting package.



I would be offline for about a week starting from tomorrow.
Since you seem not to be able to reproduce the problem,
I think you can just ignore this bug for now and release.

We can postpone this error handling later.
