The checkroot script is part of the initscripts package. Is it installed? It is essential, so I expect so, and thus fail to understand how it could be missing when util-linux try to register its init.d script in the postinst script. > The real problem looks to be a boot dependency error. Yes. The message from insserv is the error terminating the postinst. The message is correct if the initscripts postinst script have not executed to register the checkroot init.d script.
