found 546518 4.0-6 thanks This is not the same problem as #546504; the chroot in which I tested the upgrade already had dash 0.5.5.1-2.3 installed. As I tried to explain, the problem is that dpkg triggers kick in between unpacking and configuring bash and fail because there is no /bin/sh, leaving the system hosed until you restore the /bin/sh symlink one way or the other.
This is probably due to the fact that apt installs packages by calling "dpkg --unpack" first and "dpkg --configure" later. Sven -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org
