There's a new version of memcached up that addresses several critical stability issues from 1.4.0 Changelog here: http://code.google.com/p/memcached/wiki/ReleaseNotes141 I'd open a second bug about segfaulting issues I've been having over the past few weeks, but haven't due to lack of reliable reproduction.
