Ok. I rechecked 1.96+20090721-5 . I first purged grub-*, rm -rf /boot/grub, and reinstalled it from scratch, grub-install /dev/sd and update-grub. Now it works without problems, previously described issue with fonts isn't present here. grub.cfg is correct even in default configuration. grub automatically switches to gfxterm with proper fonts, and boots system without problem. So as stated previously We can test next package (or start bisection, without changeing grub.cfg). -- Witold Baryluk
